How to Find Places to Ride

How to

Back to How to

So your home with that brand new bike!  Maybe its a shiny mountain bike

and you can't wait to get it muddy!  Or maybe its a sleek road racer and your

ready to take it out for its first spin!  But where to ride?  What are some local

loops that are scenic, fun, challenging, easy, safe, etc?  A good place to start

is probably going to be your local, friendly bike shop where you purchased

your bike! But now there are places on the net that can help you in this

endeavor.  Locally, you might want to check out the  two Tri-Cities active clubs:

Kingsport Bicycle Association And Tri-Cities Road Club  The first is a more

touring/recreation club and the second more racing oriented.  Both clubs have

a reputation for being friendly and eager to break in new members.   Or course there

is nothing wrong with finding your own route!  That is part of the adventure

isn't it?  But keep in mind that there are places that bikes are not welcome.

Certain Trails are closed to mountain bikes, and some highways are also closed

to non-motorized traffic.
